Pope Francis in Stable Condition and Continuing Treatment

On Sunday, the Vatican announced that Pope Francis's condition is stable, and he continues to receive treatment. The pontiff, who canceled all meetings and events for an indefinite period following the operation to remove a part of his colon, appears to be in "stable health condition." At the moment, the papal clinic continues the recovery process.

He recalled that the pontiff was hospitalized at the Gemelli Clinic in Rome after experiencing severe pain in his abdomen. Archbishop Paolo Luki, who spoke to the press, noted that the operation was successful and Pope Francis is responding positively to it. According to the information provided by the Vatican, the operation lasted three hours and was performed under local anesthesia.

"At this moment, the pope is in good overall condition and continues to remain under medical supervision," the archbishop noted.
