Pope Francis Thanks Medical Staff and Faithful

Pope Francis expressed gratitude to medical personnel caring for him during his hospitalization and thanked the faithful for their prayers, emphasizing the importance of addressing global conflicts.

Pope Francis, from the hospital where he has been admitted for several days, thanked the doctors and healthcare staff for the attention he is receiving. In a message broadcast during the Angelus this Sunday, the pontiff expressed his gratitude to those caring for him during his convalescence, highlighting the importance of feeling the blessing that lies in fragility.

Additionally, the pope thanked the faithful who pray for his swift recovery: "I want to thank you for the prayers raised to the Lord from the hearts of many believers in different parts of the world. I feel your affection and closeness, being supported by the People of God at this particular moment. Thank you all!" emphasized Francis.

The supreme pontiff, accustomed to offering the Sunday Angelus from the window of the Apostolic Palace, was unable to do so for the last three weeks due to his hospitalization, so his messages were broadcast in written format. Seizing the opportunity to share the condition of the sick and suffering people, the pope expressed his gratitude to God.

Moreover, Francis made an appeal for an end to armed conflicts in various parts of the world, mentioning places like Ukraine, Palestine, Israel, Lebanon, Myanmar, Sudan, and Kivu. From his hospital bed, the pope reflected on the absurdity of war and stressed the importance of praying for peace.

Pope Francis, 88 years old, was hospitalized on February 14 for bronchitis with polymicrobial infection and bilateral pneumonia. Amid his convalescence, the supreme pontiff thanked for the support received and sent his prayers for the sick and for peace in the world.
